Welcome to Room 207! This is a co-taught inclusion classroom. My name is Mr. Balatsos, and I am the general education teacher in our classroom. Ms. Rakoci is the special education teacher in our classroom. We work together to ensure every student's needs are met in our classroom!
Background: I recently graduated from Dominican University in River Forest, IL with my Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education in May 2017. All in all, this is my fourth different classroom, and I have been teaching for two years. This is my first year at Jefferson Elementary School!
What's going on?: Currently, we are in the second quarter and learning many new things each day! In math, we are practicing our multiplication facts and working on 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication problems. In ELA, we are learning about poetry, prose, and drama. We are comparing and contrasting the characteristics of each. We are also working on writing our own personal narratives about what we are thankful for this year. In social studies, we are learning about Native Americans that used to live in Illinois. Lastly, in science, we are learning about waves. Check back for updates!
